THINGS TO SEE AND TO KNOW

Frilvam will take part in Palst Eurasia as co-exhibitor, counting on its recent partnership with its Turkish agent Kempro (www.kempro.com.tr). In the last period, Kempro is doing an excellent job from a marketing and sales standpoint in the Eurasian market. Frilvam will have its own corner in Kempro’s booth.

ONE MORE THING…

For those looking to expand in the Middle East from Europe, Istanbul is the ideal place. The Turkish city is a metropolis by definition, where the two continents meet. And not just from a geographical standpoint: Istanbul is first and foremost a crossroads of cultures; an example of urban philosophies melting and changing out of the blue; a door to a journey between two distant lands that have never seem so close.

Nato Lokantası
Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa Mahallesi, Necatibey Caddesi Karanlık Fırın Sk.no.4 Karaköy, 34425
This inn opened in the same year when Turkey became part of Nato (thus the name). It’s a classic, enjoyable and inexpensive place, where you can taste real Turkish food.

Öztürk Pide
Şahkulu Mahallesi, Galip Dede Cd. No:72, 34421
Just a few steps away from the Galata Tower – one of the main attractions in the city – this restaurant serves two local specialities: pides and bulghur. The first is a sort of pizza stuffed with meat and vegetables. The second is a dish made with seeds and sprouts, very similar to cous cous.

Kaya Istanbul Fair & Convention
GokevlerMahallesi, 2317 Sokak No: 1, Esenyurt
This hotel with all the comforts is only a 20 minute drive from the international airport. This area is ideal for the fair area, but a little far from the city centre.

Hagia Sophia
Sultan Ahmet Mahallesi, Ayasofya Meydanı, 34122 Fatih
Hagia Sophia is the symbol of Istanbul’s many identities. Born as a Christian Byzantine cathedral, it was then transformed into a mosque, and, in 1935, it became a museum. Its interior decorations are unique.

Blue Mosque
Sultan Ahmet Mahallesi, Atmeydanı Cd. No:7, 34122 Fatih
Its real name is Sultanamhet Camii, but everybody calls it the Blue Mosque. The name derives from the over 20000 blue tiles that decorate the dome. The tiles, along with its 3000 windows, create fantastic light effects, especially at sunset.
